THE ORIGINAL TREASURE POPPY
Hand-Felted Botanical Photography Prop
This is one of the designs that helped shape the creative direction of Treasure Island Photo Props.
The Original Treasure Poppy began with a special commission from a photographer in Australia, where the poppy carries deep symbolic meaning.
The first piece we created was the sculptural flower itself.
Later, while developing the idea for another client, we expanded the design into a complete botanical composition – adding a long sculptural stem, individually created leaves and smaller floral elements.
That evolution became something important to us.
Rather than creating only individual photography props, we began designing complete artistic scenes – botanical compositions whose elements could be arranged, combined and styled differently by each photographer.
The Original Treasure Poppy remains part of that story.
A MODULAR BOTANICAL COMPOSITION
One of the most distinctive features of this design is that its botanical elements are created separately.
Depending on the selected option, the composition can include:
• large hand-felted poppy flower
• separate sculptural stem
• individually created leaves with their own stems
• small coordinating poppy flower
• matching felted poppy bonnet
Because the elements are separate, photographers can arrange them differently from session to session.
Use the complete composition for an elaborate Fine Art scene, simplify it to the flower and a single leaf, use the flower independently, or incorporate individual botanical elements into another setup.

The flower is available in two sizes:
• Newborn - approx. 40 cm diameter
• Sitter - approx. 50 cm diameter
We also create an extended artistic version with additional petals for photographers looking for a fuller, more dramatic composition.
COLOUR PERSONALIZATION
The standard complete set is created with deep green botanical leaves, giving the poppy its rich, Fine Art character.
However, the leaves shown throughout our photography may vary in tone because many pieces have been individually customized for our clients.
Prefer something softer or completely different?
Upon request, we can create:
• lighter green foliage
• olive, moss or muted botanical tones
• custom leaf colours
• custom flower colours
• individually coordinated colour combinations

Every flower, leaf and botanical element is individually created by hand.
Subtle variations in petal shapes, leaf structure, fibre placement and botanical details are part of the handmade character of the piece.
